PanoMap™  by CSA™ is a suite of object-oriented software applications which provide immediate, 360-degree visual access to process facilities.  PanoMap™ delivers an accurate, intelligent, and precisely dimensioned representation of existing conditions to any standard desktop computer.

PanoMap™ Browser

Panomap™ browser offers each user the ability to virtually view the scanned facility. Each user has a 360 degree view of the scanned areas including the ability to pan, zoom and rotate within the space.

 

3D Cad System Integration

 PanoMap™ supports both review and modeling functions and easily integrates with existing 3-D CAD modeling software.  With an automated import and export function, PanoMap™ allows users to import and view new designs inside laser scans of existing facilities so that clashes are automatically detected and displayed for design verification as well as tie-in points can easily be located within the scans for the new design.

Intelligent Pipe Modeling

PanoMap™ is delivered with comprehensive 3-D piping specifications and libraries enabling the designers to efficiently and automatically develop as-is 3-D models of the existing facility within the laser scan environment.   Construction isometrics and bill of materials are then automatically extracted from these models.  This enables rapid turnaround time for in-kind replacement. 

Equipment Removal Simulation and Interference Checking

For projects that require removal of existing equipment, PanoMap™ is an effective tool to visualize the demolition sequence.  Utilizing the built-in functionalities of PanoMap™, the user is able to see the removal sequence and any interference along the equipment removal path. This is displayed directly on the scanned images of the plant, allowing adjustment of the removal sequence or work coordination to eliminate the interferences.  Used in the planning phase, PanoMap™ will minimize or eliminate costly field re-work.

Access to Plant Drawings, and Documents

Using the inherent tools in PanoMap™ , the user can place labels such as valve numbers and weld numbers or any other supporting Tag information directly into the scans.  The information is then inside the PanoMap™ database for later retrieval and analysis. Additionally the software’s open database allows for the integration of intelligent P&IDs, plant components, bill of material and instrumentation or maintenance databases. PanoMap™ can generate drawings in AutoCAD, DWG and Postscripts formats which contain all annotations, redlines and modeling geometry. At a touch of a button, detailed Isometrics, 2D Orthographic and Perspective drawings can be created without any additional work.

Automated Cable Routing

IQA Technologies’ approach to electrical raceway and cable design system recognizes the time constraints of cable design. Although the power cable design is finalized at an early stage of engineering, the slowly evolving design of the control / signal circuitry and choice of device locations places pressure on the cable routing team to complete their work on schedule.  PanoMap™ facilitates the  import of  data from external electronic lists and CAD systems to establish one integrated model to provide input for cable routing and a graphical review of the results.

The basic concept behind the effectiveness of CSA's system is the ability to automatically route cables and make changes to routes for many cables in a short period of time. The results are then reported and displayed to provide the information necessary to make raceway design modifications.

 

 Interoperability

The latest in open standard technologies has been incorporated in the development of PanoMap™.  The adherence to these standards allows PanoMap™ to be compatible with a verity of   CAD formats including  AutoCad, DWG, PDS, PDMS, MicroStation, DGN, IGES,  SmartPlant 3D, and many others.  Additionally PanoMap™ is  scanner neutral and is compatible with any  laser scanner capable of generating data in XYZ format, such as Leica, Z+F, Faro, Trimble, and others.
